"The Desk Set" refers to a group of women in the reference department of a TV network who are at risk of being replaced by computers. Enter Bunny Watson, en employee with encyclopedic knowledge who refuses to be bested by something made of metal, plastic and silicon. Bunny takes on the efficiency expert who recommends the machines and the machines themselves, in a hilarious romp which culminates in an office Christmas Party. The boss hears it all from the staff!! You just might experience the "shock of recognition" at the situation, while you split your sides laughing.
