“The Weir” at Shadow Lawn Summer Stage

“The Weir”
by Conor McPherson

Set in a small pug in the nrothwest of Ireland, the Weir is a haunting tale of several barmates, and a mysterious young female visitor from Dublin, who meeet for an evening, and share more than they expected. Prompted by the dark and stormy setting of rural Leitrim or Sligo, stories are spun in succession beside the hearth, and what is eventually revealed speaks more of human pain than supernatural occurances. As these strangers become kindred spirits, an evening of guiness and ghost stories adds up to the show that London's Sunday Telegraph calls "the best new play in years."
