When Newton Fuller sets out to move his family from an apartment in New York City to a charming old farmhouse in Bucks County, PA, aka "nature's paradise", he finds a few surprises. There isn't a road leading to the house and there's no water, but one thing they have do have is insects galore, trees that need spraying, and a neighbor who is unrelentless in his desire to keep the Fullers from realizing their dream. Is the honor of owning a house that has the esteemed historical honor of serving as a respite for President George Washington in the 1700s (thus the title of the show) worth all this trouble?
