As an orphan child Jane Eyre is mistreated by her guardian, banished to a strict institution and witnesses the death of her only friend. As an adult, she is dispatched to a gothic mansion to be the governess of a small child. She is immediately attracted to her employer, the brooding Edward Rochester. When Rochester admits his feelings for her, Jane's troubles just begin. Jane unravels many secrets before the triumphant and uplifting finale. Nominated for 5 Tony Awards including Best Musical.
