“The Brothers Karamazov”
Originally commissioned for the 1995 season of the Cincinnati Playhouse, Clarvoe’s adaptation has been described as “a dazzling, existential whodunit about patricide, the existence of God and the anatomy of human nature.“ Written with humor and pathos, his play speaks on a deeply human level capturing the essence of the novel—the Brothers’ obsession to cleanse themselves of their Karamazov blood and lead a good life—and inviting today’s audiences to be drawn in and challenged by this classic all over again.
