In 1924 Chicago, two brilliant, wealthy young men from prominent families committed one of the most unspeakable acts of the time. Believing they were "supermen" in their intellects, they planned to commit a crime so shocking that it would demonstrate their superiority over society and its laws. Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb picked a young boy at random, and murdered Bobby Franks, simply "because they could do it."
But they're arrogance did not prevent them from making mistakes, and they were caught. The famous lawyer, Clarence Darrow, was brought in to defend them. What proceeded from there was one of the most dramatic fights ever fought over the justice of the Death Penalty.
