“Quadrophenia” at Battery Factory Theater

“Quadrophenia”
Music & Lyrics by Pete Townshend
Based on the works by Pete Townshend
Adapted by Gene DeMaio

Schizophrenia in Quadrophonic sound? It's 1963, the height of the riots between the rival youth gangs in the Mods and Rockers. This is the tale of mixed-up, pill-popping English teen Jimmy Cooper whose obsessive need for acceptance shatters his self-awareness and leaves all of his relationships hopelessly in tatters. Rejected by everyone whose approval he seeks and unable to find his identity, Jimmy turns to drugs and booze and begins to lose hold of his sanity. "Quadrophenia" is the story of Jimmy Cooper's struggles to make sense of his troubled youth before it consumes him.
