Kay Martines Biography

Kay is a British Citizen who has lived in the USA for four years after marrying her husband Peter in 1999. She now lives in Monroe, NJ with her nine cats (yes -9! It's not a misprint!) and two horses. Kay trained as a professional actress at the prestigious "Bristol Old Vic Theatre School" in England. She worked extensively in film, radio, and theater in the U.K. and in Austria with "The Vienna English Theatre." In 1987, feeling like a career change, she joined the Thames Valley Police and retired after 15 years. During that time, however, she was involved in many amateur theater companies, choreographing musicals and directing plays such as J. B. Priestly's An Inspector Calls. This is her first performance with the Monmouth Players. She would like to thank Paul and Lori for giving her the chance to work with this great group and would like to direct plays in the future.
