On Broadway, Mr. Coleman conducted
the Lincoln Center revival of Anything Goes starring both Patti Lupone and Leslie Uggams, the revival of Mame starring Angela Lansbury, and Sweeney Todd starring Dorothy Loudon and George Hearn. In Los Angeles, Mr. Coleman conducted 42nd Street and South Pacific starring Richard Kiley. National Tours include Anything Goes (Leslie Uggams), Sweeney Todd (Angela Lansbury and George Hearn), A Little Night Music, The Sound of Music, and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. At Paper Mill, Mr. Coleman has conducted 23 productions, including Side by Side by Sondheim, Damn Yankees, Fanny, The Merry Widow, Camelot, Oliver!, Brigadoon, Nine, Call Me Madam, Man of La Mancha, No, No, Nanette, and last season’s Follies. For New York City Opera at Lincoln Center, The New Moon, The Desert Song, The Student Prince, Sweeney Todd, and South Pacific. Mr. Coleman served as the conductor for two productions of PBS’s "Great Performances" — The New Moon: Live from Wolf Trap (1988) and Show Boat (1989). Additionally, he conducted Showtime’s presentation of Sweeney Todd starring Angela Lansbury and George Hearn (also available on videocassette).
