most recently received her second Tony Award nomination this spring for her performance in Triumph of Love and won critical acclaim and an Olivier Award nomination for her interpretation of Norma Desmond in the Broadway and London productions of Andrew Lloyd Webbers Sunset Boulevard. She won a Tony Award for her performance as Grizabella in Lloyd Webbers Cats and has starred in other Broadway and Off-Broadway productions originating roles in 1776, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and Carrie (Outer Critics Circle nomination). In film, she made her debut in Brian DePalmas Carrie and appeared in Bruce Beresfords Tender Mercies, Roman Polanskis Frantic, and Woody Allens Another Woman. She starred for four seasons as Abby Bradford in the hit television series "Eight Is Enough." For PBS, she is the host for a special called "The Women of Tin Pan Alley" to air in December. Ms. Buckley does extensive concertizing and has completed five CDs, most recently "Much More" and in 1996 "An Evening at Carnegie Hall" was a benefit concert for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. She has been awarded two honorary doctorates of fine arts for her contribution to the musical theatre by Marymount College and the Boston Conservatory of Music. Other awards include "Showstopper of the Year" by Lancome of Paris and New York Woman magazine and the 1996 WCC "Civic Spirit" award.
