Albert E. Ganter, was appointed as Resident Music Director for the Rainbow Experience of Westfield/Painfield in January of 2001. As most students would agree, Albert is known for his Zany and fun way to teach music and the use of yoga principals in teaching singing. He currently teaches Vocal Music at Filippini Academy in Newark, NJ and at Good Shepherd Academy in Nutley, NJ. He is the Music Minister at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church in Kearny, NJ where he is the organist and directs the adult, youth, and combined sanctuary choirs. Musical Direction credits also include Aint Misbehavin’ at the Brook Arts Center and Guys and Dolls at the Y in Wayne (to open in May 2002). Mr. Ganter received his education at Westminster Choir College and studied conducting with two renowned children’s choir conductors, Craig Denison formerly with the American Boychoir and Jean Ashworth Bartle of the Toronto Children’s Chorus. He has studied voice with Elem Eley and Nancy Hoerl. Mr. Ganter has been on the staff on Stu-Arts at Stuart Country Day School in Princeton, NJ as a music instructor, DramaWorks in Yardley, PA as a musical theatre instructor, and as Assistant Music Director for Westminster’s Middle School Music Camp in 1998 and 1999. While at Westminster, He was the Conducting Intern for the Westminster Conservatory Children’s Choir and he sang with the famed Symphonic Choir. Singing under the batons of Masur and the New York Philharmonic, Flummerfelt and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and Macal and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. He was also a member of the Westminster Concert Bell Choir where he was seen on an episode of PBS’ Mister Roger’s Neighborhood.
