Seth Bisen-Hersh

Seth was raised in East Brunswick, NJ. For as long as he can remember, he has loved musical theatre. His grandfather made him copies of original cast recordings from the moment he learned how to use a tape recorder! In elementary school, Seth began performing on stage and playing piano. In the 5th grade, in 1990, Seth had his first leading role- Captain Hook in Peter Pan. He then went on that year to star as Winthrop in Phoenix Productions' The Music Man and started his first year of Children Summer Theatre. (He is now in his 12th year at the nationally acclaimed program- now as Music Director.) At the age of 13, Seth wrote his first song, "When I Was Young" for his mother's birthday. From then on, he continued to be in many shows while composing songs whenever he felt inspired. Eventually, Seth went to MIT where he graduated in 2001 with two Bachelor degrees: one in Computer Science and one in Music. Somewhere in those years (and copious spare time), he wrote Trivial Pursuits with his old high school buddy, Scribby. He produced, directed and vocally directed the World Premiere Production at MIT, as well. In the fall of 2001, Seth starts graduate school. He will be going to NYU for a Master degree in Music Technology, something to combine both his majors. He is currently working on two new musical projects: a Poe musical with Scribby and Pandora's Children with his friend's fiance, James Corey Kaufman.
