D.J. Salisbury Biography

D.J. is happy to return to Paper Mill Playhouse, having choreographed our sumptuous production of Nine. Recent ventures as director include a new musical version of The Gift of the Magi for Boston InStages and Grease at Hampton Playhouse. As choreographer, Mr. Salisbury has staged Gypsy, Irene, Carousel, Paint Your Wagon, The Secret Garden, Crazy For You, and several productions nationwide of The Will Rogers Follies, a show with which he has had a long and delightful association: dance assistant on the original workshop and Broadway productions, and dance captain/ swing for the National Tour. Delving into other theatrical arenas, Mr. Salisbury has written the book and lyrics for two musicals, one of which had its New York debut reading in the fall of ’97 with direction by Jack Lee. Current projects include direction and concept for a musical revue, and writing musical number three.
