the internationally renowned Metropolitan Opera basso, was born in Hollywood, California. Mr. Hines has been married to opera diva Lucia Evangelista for 46 years. He received his Bachelor of Arts degrees in organic chemistry and mathematics from the University of California at Los Angeles. He was granted graduate standing in physics and is the recipient of 11 honorary doctoral degrees. He is also a scientist, author, and composer. He currently is executive producer and host on Channel 13’s Metro Arts WNET. At Paper Mill he has sung Man of La Mancha as well as South Pacific. He has sung for Presidents and Premiers. He is founder and artistic director of Opera Music Theatre International (O.M.T.I.). In his record-breaking 41 consecutive seasons with the Metropolitan Opera, he has sung in 830 performances.
