John R. Hammel Biography

"The Subject Was Roses" is John Hammel 3rd appearance on the Bickford stage. He was seen previously in "1776" and "Olympus On My Mind". He has appeared throughout the New Jersey and New York areas, most notably at the Papermill Theatre, in Millburn and off-Broadway at the John Houseman, St. Peters and Westbeth Theatres. Known to many primarily as a singing actor John has appeared in numerous operas with the N.J. State, Northwest Lyric and Scranton IV companies. He is also the host of a Saturday morning classical/jazz program on WNTI, 91.9 F.M., an NPR affiliate, broadcasting out of Hackettstown, N.J.
