Penny Fuller Biography

Penny Fuller is known across America as Paul Reiser’s mother on the hit NBC series Mad About You and through her Emmy-nominated guest appearances on ER, China Beach and NYPD Blue. She won the Emmy for her unforgettable turn in The Elephant Man (her six nominations include the Showtime film Cat On A Hot Tin Roof and NBC’s Miss Rose White). Ms. Fuller’s long list of theatrical accolades includes two L.A. Drama Critics Circle Awards (for Betrayal), a Drama Desk nomination (Three Viewings at Manhattan Theatre Club), a Dramalogue Award (for The Seagull) and a Tony nomination for her performance as Eve in Applause. Her most recent New York legit appearances were in Wendy Wasserstein’s An American Daughter, A.R. Gurney’s Ancestral Voices and William Finn’s musical A New Brain last season at Lincoln Center.
