The Water Children premiered last fail at Playwrights Horizons in NY as a co‑production with The Women's Project, and was subsequently produced in Los Angeles at The Matrix Theatre where it was cited as the most challenging political play' of 1998 by the LA weekly and earned six LA Drama Critics Circle nominations. The House Of Yes, now a prize‑winning Miramax feature film, won the Bay Area Critics Award for Best New Play in 1990 and became the second longest running show in the Magic Theatre Company's history. The successful production then moved to LA and the play has since been done at SoHo Rep, The Gate Theatre in London and The Maxim Gorki Club Theatre in Berlin. Ms. MacLeod has been commissioned by Manhattan Theatre Club and Arena Stage and The Water Children was the result of an Amblin Entertainment / Dreamworks commission from Playwrights Horizons.
